Elect Riakos Adams for Mayor
Grounded in Service. Leading with Purpose.

I believe leadership is an obligation, not a reward.
Throughout my life, I have served in roles where walking away when things needed fixing was never an option—military service, community service, nonprofit leadership, and local government. In those spaces, I learned a simple truth: when systems work, they must be strengthened; when they fall short, someone must step forward to improve them.
I am not motivated by title, power, or pay. I am motivated by responsibility.
I am running because I believe that when you are prepared, capable, and trusted to serve at a higher level, you have a duty to step forward—especially when your community is at a crossroads.
I am not running against anyone. I am running for the people who do not always feel heard, respected, or included in decision-making.
Over the years, I have listened to families navigating instability, volunteers filling gaps where government cannot always reach, and residents who feel decisions are made about them rather than with them. From those conversations, one thing has become clear:
Good people do not stop caring — they stop believing leaders are listening.
My purpose is to restore that belief.
What Leadership Should Look Like
- Leadership should be steady, humble, and focused on results—not noise or ego.
- I believe:
- Service should always come before self
- Leadership should be calm, disciplined, and accessible
- Decisions should be grounded in real lives, not talking points
- Government should work for everyone, not just those with access or influence
- I am unwilling to accept "this is how it has always been done" when it no longer serves our community. A person’s experience should help propel them to do new things, not shackle them to the past.
Why I am running
I believe in stability—but stability does not mean standing still.
True stability comes from steady leadership, clear values, and consistent follow-through. It does not come from defending systems simply because they are familiar. As our city grows and changes, our methods must be willing to evolve while our principles remain firm.
This campaign is not about disruption for disruption’s sake. It is about recognizing that "business as usual" does not always meet today’s needs. When something works, we should protect it. When something no longer serves the community well, we should have the courage to improve it.
My values are stable—service, integrity, accountability. My approach is practical—protect what works, fix what doesn’t, and always focus on results for people.
Killeen is growing, changing, and carrying new responsibilities. It is a city shaped by military families, young families, long-time residents, and newcomers alike. With growth comes opportunity—but also the need for leadership that understands complexity and acts with purpose.
I have reached a point where I understand how our systems work, where they break down, and how to bring people together to solve problems. I can lead without learning on the job, and I can listen without losing direction.
Waiting does not make challenges smaller. Leadership requires action.
I am running because leadership is service, and when you are prepared to serve at a any level, you do not sit on the sidelines while your community needs steady hands.
This campaign—and this candidacy—is about trust, responsibility, and purpose. It is about building a city that works for everyone, led by someone who listens first, leads with intention, and never forgets who they serve.
Moving forward together!!!
